Choosing the right cage for your rats is very important. Below is a great selection of some of the best cages on the market to house your rats. This guide is split into 2 sections. Bigger cages perfect for a larger mischief and also smaller cages which are great for the novice rat keeper or for those with smaller groups of rats. It is worth saying there are other cages out there that will also be good but the ones on this list are generally the ones most recommended by those in the rat community. As long as the minimum space requirements are met for the number of rats you want to keep other options are fine.

There are a few things you need to consider when buying your cage to make sure it’s suitable for rats and also the sizes of groups you wish to keep.
